From Flax to Linen

The first two-week course was organized by the HAWK in 2011 partly in Hildesheim, partly in the open-air museum Rahden (Germany). Its main focus was on the documentation of the peasant plant fiber processing. Together with teachers of the universities of Amsterdam, Budapest and Helsinki as well as the HAWK Prof. Dr. Michael von der Goltz and Prof. Dr. Gerdi Maierbacher-Legl, the students participated in a documentary film workshop. After this, the necessary tools and craftsmanship steps were documented and also practically understood.
